CPI’s team have in-depth experience of qualitative and quantitative research techniques and have carried out projects ranging from rapid evidence reviews to multi-year multi-site research projects.

We have particular experience in engaging vulnerable and “hard-to-reach” communities and have sensitively delivered successful research projects with a range of vulnerable and marginalised groups.

We continue to explore exciting new approaches to undertaking research and evaluation and can offer a range of quasi-experimental approaches that enable us to answer questions that more traditional research approaches cannot.

We have particular experience of carrying out evaluations for charities that have received grant funding and need to report to the funding organisation to demonstrate the impact that their service has had.

As part of our work in relation to commissioning, we have particular expertise around Outcome-based commissioning. Since our inception in 2000 we have led the way in developing outcome-based commissioning and performance management in England and can help you think how to adopt this approach in your commissioning portfolio. Our Introduction to Outcome Based Commissioning remains a perennial favourite of commissioners around the country.

We can help you understand the effectiveness of your services and the impact that they are having. We can offer referral pathway mapping, user experience and insight, demand analysis and impact measurement to help you determine whether your services are having the effect that you need them to.

CPI has a detailed understanding of commissioning and have delivered projects across all elements of the commissioning cycle. We have worked with both commissioners and providers of commissioned services meaning that we have unique insight into commissioning from the perspective of all parties.
